Solutions to Fix "DVD Won't Play on Windows 10" Error!
Why does my DVD not play on Windows Media Player after upgrading to Windows 10? This is because Microsoft has removed WMP's built-in DVD codec to save licensing fee. To fill the DVD hole in Windows 10, Microsoft released Windows DVD Player on Windows Store. However, Microsoft makes it free only for those who upgrade from Windows 7 Home Premium, Professional or Ultimate, Windows 8 or 8.1 with Windows Media Center. Others need to pay £11.59 or $14.99 for this DVD player software. However, this app doesn't seem to work well. When users try to play DVD with this program, they may receive playback error messages such as 'The text associated with this error code could not be found. 0x8004027d'. Thus, it receives a quite low rating (average 3.2) and lots of negative reviews for various bugs.
- Windows DVD Player just crashes since installing kb4013429 cumulative update.
- I restarted my computer twice and it still would not play my DVD. It keeps giving me an error message.
- It reads some DVD but others it says it cannot decode them. Windows NEEDS to debug this app.
