[Updated] Disney Marvel Movies List: All Marvel Movies Distributed by Walt Disney

Which Marvel movies are distributed by Walt Disney? Why does Disney distribute Marvel movies?

Disney Marvel

Are you surprised when you notice that a Marvel movie is distributed by Walt Disney? Why Disney owns the distribution right of Marvel movies? Let's back to a few years ago and see what happened between Marvel and Disney. In 2009, The Walt Disney Company and comic book and action hero company Marvel Entertainment reached a big deal that Disney paid $4.24 billion to acquire Marvel. In 2015, Marvel Studios, once a subsidiary of Marvel Entertainment, was merged into The Walt Disney Studios. As a consequence, Disney obtained the distribution right of Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) movies produced after 2009 for $4 billion.

However, not all Marvel movies are distributed by Disney, in that Sony and Fox still own distribution right of some Marvel superhero movies. Fox is responsible for X-Men (including Deadpool) and Fantastic Four movies, while Sony takes charge of Spiderman. (Update: Marvel's made more than $18 billion at the global box office over the ten years.)

Well, which Marvel movies are distributed by Walt Disney? How did they behave in worldwide box office? Check the list below.
