How to format an SDHC card to NTFS (from FAT32)?
Question: I just purchased a Transcend 16GB SDHC card. I want to use it to play hi def videos (I shoot and edit my own) through the SD slot on my Blu-ray player (capable of playing AVCHD). The problem is that the SDHC card is formatted FAT32, so it can't hold files larger than 4GB (many of my videos are larger than that after editing).
Any help would be greatly appreciated, since I bought the card basically for this one specific purpose. Also, I know that there are other ways to play these videos (burning Blu-ray to DVD9, running through an Xbox, etc.), but I really am only looking for help on how to format the SDHC card.
Best Answer: You can't. NTFS is a Microsoft standard and is not readily usable by non-windows systems. Most devices will not support this file system. There is a new file system exFAT which is designed for flash memory applications. It still is in development stages and there is no support or use outside of the PC environment.
