The UPS man dropped the package I'd been waiting for all day at 6PM. Eagerly, I tore open the box, threw the plastic wrapping and packaging all over the floor, and plugged my brand new Micca Mplay HD into my Viewsonic LED TV. First realization, the Mplay doesn't come with an HDMI cable, something I should have thought of. Oh well, guess the big brown truck will be coming back to deliver the nice new HDMI cable I just ordered. Great.
So, I plugged the supplied A/V cable (Video, L and R audio RCA) into the AV input of my TV, then plugged in my WD Passport media drive into the top USB slot. Then I navigated to the MKV[1] Movie folder, pressed 'OK' on the remote and nothing happened! I got an error message saying "No File!" Now I know for a fact that there are plenty of files on this drive, so I finally (and I might add reluctantly, as my wife looked on) opened the manual. At times it even drive me to buy a software to convert MKV to MP4 format to check out whether it will work.
